Economists met with Albuquerque city leaders on Friday to ponder these questions: How many people will be living in New Mexico in 2025 and how many jobs will we need to support them?
Today’s economic development and strategic planning session is just one of many meetings that will take place until the fall. The goal is to get lawmakers to start thinking about the future and how to restore New Mexico jobs to pre-recession numbers.
“We’ve really suffered during the recession as much as any state and have yet to start growing again,” said Mark Lautman, a consultant in the meeting.
